Commissions
Alongside our made to order collections, we take on a limited number of commissions each year, allowing us to give each project the time and attention it deserves. We love collaborating with people to create pieces tailored to a particular space, purpose or idea. Whether you're looking for a statement piece of furniture, a one-off object or something that builds on our existing designs, we'd love to hear from you.
Every commission is thoughtfully designed and carefully crafted in our Dorset workshop.

How it Works
-
Every project starts with a conversation. You might have an idea for something completely new, or you may simply want to adapt one of our existing pieces to better suit your space. Either way, we’ll work closely with you to develop a design that feels right, balancing your brief with our approach to materials, making and craftsmanship.
Following our initial conversation, we’ll provide a quoted price. We ask for a 50% deposit based on this quote so we can begin the design process. We’ll then develop an initial design which includes one round of feedback at no additional cost. Once the design, materials and specifications have been finalised, we’ll confirm the final project price. Any difference between the initial quote and final price will be reflected in the remaining balance. If further design revisions are required, each additional round of revisions will incur a fee of 10% of the final project price.

At OINK, we take a considered approach to the materials we use, keeping our selection intentionally lean. This helps us minimise waste and make the most efficient use of each piece of timber. However, if you have a specific material or finish in mind, we’re always happy to explore options and source alternatives where possible.
Timber is a natural material, and every piece carries its own unique character, grain and variation. Rather than hiding these differences, we choose to celebrate them, allowing the material itself to become part of the design.
We can provide free samples from our four core materials: Ash, Sapele, Walnut and Birch plywood. Samples of alternative materials can also be sourced for a small fee.
-
We aim to provide clear and considered pricing that reflects the quality of the materials, the skill involved and the time taken to create something made specifically for you.
We believe in being open and honest from the outset. Our quotes are clear and transparent, and if anything changes during the project, we’ll always discuss it with you before any additional costs are incurred.
-
As each piece is made to order, lead times can vary depending on the complexity of the design, material availability and our current workshop schedule.
Each commission follows two key stages: the design phase and the production phase. During the design phase, we work with you to refine the concept, develop the details of the piece and finalise material choices. Once the design has been approved, we move into the production phase, where we provide an estimated timeline and begin carefully crafting your piece in our Dorset workshop.
We’ll keep you updated throughout the process as your project progresses.

Every project is unique, delivery costs are calculated based on the scale of the piece and the delivery address. Once the details of your project have been confirmed, we can provide an accurate delivery cost and arrange the most suitable method of transport. We take care to ensure each piece is carefully packaged and delivered safely from our workshop to its new home.
For larger or more complex commissions, we can also provide a professional installation service and site visits where required. These services are available for an additional fee and can be discussed as part of the planning process.
